Breaking Development in High-Profile Fugitive Case

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) are preparing to deliver a significant update regarding Rabih (Robby) Alkhalil, who has been evading authorities since his escape from a British Columbia prison in 2022.

Background of the Escape

The dramatic escape occurred when two individuals posing as contractors, driving a white Econoline van, helped Alkhalil break out of the facility. Staff discovered the escape at 7:30 p.m. and immediately alerted the Coquitlam RCMP.

Criminal History and Dangers

Alkhalil, aged 38, has an extensive criminal record and was convicted of murders in both Toronto and Vancouver in 2012. In 2020, he received an 8-year sentence in Quebec for drug trafficking. He was on trial in 2022 for a Vancouver shooting when he orchestrated his escape.

Current Status and Rewards

Currently ranking as Canada’s most-wanted criminal, authorities are offering a substantial reward of up to $250,000, available until next May, for information leading to his arrest. Due to his sophisticated past activities, Alkhalil could be anywhere in the world, and investigators note that he is known to use fake identity documents and passports.

Public Safety Warning

Alkhalil is currently wanted on Canada-wide warrants for murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and being unlawfully at large. He is considered a very dangerous criminal with extensive ties to organized crime, and an Interpol Red Notice has been issued for him.

The BOLO Program warns that anyone helping Alkhalil avoid arrest could be considered an ‘accessory after the fact’ and face charges. Under section 240 of the Criminal Code of Canada, being an accessory after the fact of murder is an indictable offence that could result in life imprisonment.
