Martha Plimpton has joined the cast of HBO’s new drama ‘Task’, created by ‘Mare of Easttown’ creator Brad Ingelsby. The series features Mark Ruffalo as an FBI agent investigating drug-house robberies in Philadelphia’s suburbs.

In the series, Plimpton portrays Kathleen McGinty, a career FBI supervisor facing forced retirement. Her character is described as a special agent in charge who has worked diligently to achieve her position.

In a recent revelation, the 54-year-old actress shared that she received an ADHD diagnosis around age 50, describing it as “a huge relief.” The diagnosis helped her make sense of many aspects of her life that previously hadn’t been clear.

Plimpton has embraced her diagnosis openly, stating that she is “not ashamed” and is “glad to be sharing my ADHDness with the world.”
