Marquette University Lacrosse Team Faces Heartbreaking Loss as Two Players Die in Tragic Accident

Community Mourns Sudden Loss
The Marquette University community is grieving the loss of two lacrosse team members, Noah Snyder, 20, and Scott Michaud, 19, who were killed in a car crash near campus on Friday evening at the intersection of 27th and St. Paul Avenue.
The incident occurred when a 41-year-old driver collided with a vehicle carrying six occupants, all of whom were members of the lacrosse team.
Accomplished Student-Athletes
Both young men had distinguished themselves academically, having been named to the Big East All-Academic Team during their first year at the university. Snyder was pursuing a business degree as a New York native, while Michaud, from Ohio, was studying biomedical sciences.
Snyder had made significant contributions to the team, participating in 13 of Marquette’s 14 games last season, starting three times in the midfield position, and recording nine goals and seven assists.
Team’s Recent Achievements
The 2025 season had been showing promise for Marquette’s lacrosse program, with the team improving to a 7-6 (2-3) record, marking their first winning regular season since 2016. The team had demonstrated exceptional performance, leading nationally in man-up opportunities with a .594 success rate.
Community Response
The university community has united in support, with a message displayed above the Varsity Theatre reading, “Our hearts are with you, men’s lacrosse team.” The tragedy has brought the campus community together in a showing of collective grief and support.
Students and faculty gathered for a campus mass to honor their lives, while local law enforcement confirmed that the driver responsible for the crash has been arrested.
