Major Changes to Canada’s Premier Lottery Game

The nationwide lottery has increased its maximum jackpot from $70 million to $80 million, with Lotto Max now offering two weekly jackpots that start at $10 million but can grow to the new maximum amount.

How the Game Works

For every $5 play, participants receive three sets of seven numbers ranging from 1 to 50. Players can choose their first set of seven numbers, while the remaining two sets are generated by Quick Pick. For maximum convenience, players can also opt for Quick Pick to generate all three sets.

The Lotto Max jackpot begins at $10 million and continues to grow until someone wins. When the main jackpot reaches $50 million, additional MAXMILLIONS prizes become available. MAXMILLIONS are separate $1 million dollar prizes that are drawn when the main jackpot hits the $50 million mark.

Recent Developments and Draw Schedule

Players now have the opportunity to win up to $80 million, with draws held every Tuesday and Friday. The odds of winning any prize with Lotto Max are approximately 1 in 7.

Additional Prize Opportunities

When the $50 million jackpot isn’t won, any unclaimed MAXMILLIONS are added to the next draw. The offering can increase progressively, potentially reaching $55 million plus 4 MAXMILLIONS, $60 million plus 6 MAXMILLIONS, and can ultimately reach $80 million plus 14 MAXMILLIONS.

MAXMILLIONS prizes carry over to the next draw if they remain unclaimed, and these prizes will be shared if there is more than one winning selection.
