A Rising Star in Baltimore’s Backfield

Justice Hill, the Baltimore Ravens running back who entered the NFL as a fourth-round pick from Oklahoma State in 2019, has transformed into one of the league’s most reliable third-down specialists.

2024-25 Season Performance

Hill has established himself as one of the NFL’s premier third-down backs, earning an impressive 89.0 PFF receiving grade in 2024, which ranked fourth among all running backs. Remarkably, he demonstrated perfect hands, not dropping any of his 52 targets throughout the season.

The veteran back has reached new career highs across the board as a pass catcher, with his 42 receptions ranking 15th among running backs and his 383 receiving yards placing him 11th at his position.

Contract Security and Team Value

After signing a two-year contract extension with the Ravens in March 2023, Hill further solidified his position with the team by agreeing to a new two-year, $6 million contract extension in September 2024.

Role in Ravens’ Elite Rushing Attack

Hill has earned his place in Baltimore by “doing the little things: Picking up blitzers, catching swing passes, and grinding tough yards in late-game situations.” While his teammate Derrick Henry dominates headlines, Hill’s contribution helps maintain the team’s balanced tempo.

The Ravens’ offensive prowess is evident as they currently lead the NFL in total offense, demonstrating their ability to be lethal both in the running and passing game.

Future Outlook

Under coordinator Todd Monken’s system, Baltimore utilizes a rotation of different running styles, with Hill playing a crucial role. He will likely remain one of the two primary options that head coach John Harbaugh turns to, alongside promising rookie Rasheen Ali, who has earned a spot on the Ravens’ final 53-man roster after an impressive preseason.
