Historic Performance by the Seminoles

The Florida State Seminoles achieved their largest margin of victory in program history with a commanding 77-3 win over East Texas A&M. The ‘Noles entered the matchup as heavy favorites and delivered a masterclass performance against the now 0-2 Lions.

Offensive Explosion

Quarterback Tommy Castellanos led the charge with an exceptional performance, completing 8 of 11 passes for 237 yards and three touchdowns, finishing with an impressive 343.7 passer rating. Wide receiver Duce Robinson and running back Gavin Sawchuk combined for 261 yards and four scores in the victory.

Sawchuk displayed his versatility with two rushing touchdowns and a 53-yard touchdown reception. The Seminoles’ offensive dominance was evident in their total offensive output of 729 yards and 29 first downs, while limiting East Texas A&M to just 197 total yards.

Defensive Dominance

The Seminoles’ defense was equally impressive, allowing only 92 yards passing and 105 yards rushing. They recorded three sacks and nine tackles for loss, while Earl Little Jr. and Jerry Wilson each secured interceptions that led to Florida State touchdowns.

Emotional Tribute

The game carried additional significance as the Seminoles played with heavy hearts following the shooting of freshman linebacker Ethan Pritchard in Havana, Florida. The team honored him by wearing sweatbands with his No. 35 jersey number, and Little Jr. carried Pritchard’s jersey to midfield for the pregame coin toss.

Looking Ahead

Following this dominant victory, Florida State will enter their first bye week of the 2025 season before returning to action at Doak Campbell Stadium to host Kent State on Saturday, September 20th, with the game time yet to be determined.
