Browns’ Rookie RB Quinshon Judkins Signs Contract, But Season Debut Remains Uncertain

National Champion Signs with Browns
Former Ohio State running back Quinshon Judkins has officially signed his first professional contract with the Cleveland Browns, agreeing to a four-year, $11.4 million deal. This milestone comes after a remarkable college career that culminated in triumph.
College Success and Championship Glory
Judkins established himself as a standout in the SEC at Ole Miss, accumulating 2,725 yards and 31 touchdowns over two seasons before transferring to Ohio State, where he formed one of the country’s top running back duos. In his final collegiate season, despite a career-low 194 carries, Judkins still managed to amass 1,060 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns. His partnership with TreVeyon Henderson made history as only the third pair of Buckeyes to rush for 1,000 yards in the same season.
Current Status and Challenges
While Judkins has finally signed his rookie contract after missing the entire preseason, he won’t be available for the Browns’ opener against the Cincinnati Bengals. However, he will be allowed to practice through a temporary roster exemption while the NFL continues its investigation into his conduct. This follows a July incident in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he was arrested on charges of domestic assault and battery, though prosecutors later declined to pursue the case.
Future Outlook
Looking ahead, Judkins is expected to eventually step into the role of Cleveland’s lead back, though he may share work with Jerome Ford and fellow rookie Dylan Sampson. Once fully integrated into the offense, he’s projected to be a reliable option for weekly production, though his off-field situation may impact his early-season participation.
