Around the world people like to celebrate and there's no better occasion than a national holiday. Here is a list of countries who will be celebrating their national holiday in the month of April.

Iran – April 1. This public holiday would seem like an April fools day prank, but yes, Iran does celebrate its “independence”. It was on this day in 1979 that Iran became the Islamic Republic of Iran. Break out the tear gas and anti riot gear, it's time to celebrate.
Netherlands – Queens Day April 30. Queens day is celebrated in the Netherlands as well as the Netherlands Antilles. This day is is the day of Queen Julianas birthday. If you're here for this event then wear your best orange outfit and expect an exciting time. You will find outdoor concerts throughout the city with the biggest happening in Museumplein and Rembrandtplein. If you're a bargain hunter then this is a great day as it is also a free market day where people will sell all of their old things on the streets.
Senegal – April 4. Senegal celebrates the dissolution of the Mali Federation, when they became an independent country. They sing in the streets and play traditional music to celebrate.
Sierra Leone – April 27. On this day Sierra Leon celebrates their independence from the united Kingdom.
South Africa – April 27. Freedom Day is celebrated in South Africa. This day recognizes the first democratic non-racial elections on April 27 1994. This is an official holiday Calebrated each year.
Syria – April 17. On this day they celebrate their independence from france with the usual festivities.
Zimbabwe – April 18. This is the independence day of Zimbabwe from Great Britain. Don't expect much as the country suffers from poverty and political instability.
