Have any questions, comments or funny cruise ship job stories? .

Dear Mike,
Got to know about you through an article over the internet. I just want to tell you that I have been selected for carnival cruise. I have two and a half years of experience with the hoslitality industry, but I have shown experience of three years on my resume that I submitted to the recruitment team. There was a gap of six months during the time when I shifted from one job to another so in order to cover those six months I made a fake experience letter. I know this is not right thing to do and at the same time I am the only working person in my family to support them. Rest all my doccuments are up to date nor I have any criminal record. I need ur guidense should I try my luck ? Or just forget about cruise as I know its very difficult to get another cruise ship job opportunity here in India. I have already cleared the interview and also the medical test. I dont have any Idea about what to do? Please suggest me.
Thanks and regards,
Achal.
Well, you shouldnt have lied, but whats done is done. To be honest, a gap of 6 months is perfectly explainable. You were between jobs. Period. Its none of their business beyond that. In the future you shouldnt feel like you have to hide something that everyone does a couple times in their careers. IE: change jobs.
So, if they hired you already then your fine. Expect not to have the issue come up again. You will go onboard and begin your exciting new career onboard cruise ships. Be prepared to work hard and you will move up. As my Nanna used to say "Dont take no shit from no one."
So yeah, if they offered you the job then dont worry about it.
Cheers,
Mike
